Stan Collymore has urged Liverpool to sign Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara as a replacement for Fabinho, who is set to move to Saudi Arabia this week.
Writing for CaughtOffside, the pundit suggested that the French international could be an ideal successor for the 29-year-old midfielder, though Collymore acknowledged that Villa won’t be under any pressure in the slightest this summer to sell Kamara.
The midfielder moved to Villa Park last year and was key in Unai Emery’s side clinching European football for the first time in over a decade, and Kamara could be a realistic option to replace Fabinho if the Villians were actually open to letting the 23-year-old leave.

Indeed, with Liverpool expected to spend big on a defensive midfielder to replace Fabinho, Kamara could become an option if Villa name a price for the former Olympique Marseille star. And for Collymore, the youngster could be perfect for Jurgen Klopp this summer.
Collymore said: “I think Liverpool should break the bank for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and although it might be a little too soon for him, Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara would be an excellent acquisition for Klopp having been exceptional at times last season, although I think Aston Villa won’t be motivated to sell him this summer.”
Liverpool should at least test the waters with Kamara

With Villa signing Kamara for free last summer, it’s not completely unrealistic to suggest that Emery and his team could be convinced with a major offer for the midfielder, a prospect that Liverpool shouldn’t be afraid to take in their hunt to replace Fabinho.
As we know, the Reds are ready to spend big on find an heir to the Brazilian international. And given Kamara’s age, profile and experience in the Premier League, the midfielder could be the dream signing for Klopp and his new project at Liverpool.
