Liverpool are reportedly interested in Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka, who could leave the Bavarian giants this summer.

According to journalist Steve Kay, the 28-year-old Germany international is now on Liverpool’s radar as the Reds look to widen their search for a third midfield signing, with the reporter saying: “He’s (Amrabat) a quality player and I think Liverpool are looking at him as well, and I think Liverpool are also looking at Goretzka I heard tonight.”

Fawned over by TalkSport for his physical transformation, Goretzka would be quite the addition for Liverpool this summer ahead of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson’s potential exits from the club, especially with Bayern now open to selling the midfielder.

A regular for the Bundesliga champions and the Germany national team, Goretzka would offer something completely different to what Liverpool already have in their midfield ranks. And the player himself could be very keen on playing under Jurgen Klopp.

Indeed, Goretzka is yet to play in the Premier League and could be very open to a move to England with his time at Bayern seemingly at an end. And Klopp’s Liverpool could be the dream destination for the 28-year-old, who will also have the funds to match the midfielder’s asking price.

Goretzka has been a Germany and Bayern mainstay for what feels like forever, and as a target for the Anfield side, the midfielder could be a dream signing for the Reds and an ideal replacement for the likes of Fabinho and Henderson should they both move on.

As we know, Goretzka has the ability and physicality to play virtually everywhere in the midfield, a trait that Klopp will find very useful if the Liverpool manager is to get his hands on his fellow countryman at some point this summer.
