Liverpool could reportedly have a genuine chance of signing Moises Caicedo this summer, even with Chelsea now having a second bid rejected for the midfielder.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, the Reds remain interested in the Brighton & Hove Albion star. Though a bid is yet to be made, Liverpool could soon enter the fray for Caicedo should an opportunity present itself in the market for the Reds to move.
As reported by the Athletic, Caicedo has this week been subject to a £70m offer from Chelsea as Mauricio Pochettino continues to push for the Ecuador international. However, Brighton shot down this bid, with the Seagulls want £100m for the midfielder.

Indeed, Liverpool matching Caicedo’s asking price seems unlikely. Yet there is now a chance that the Reds could land the South American talent even with Chelsea still pushing to sign the Brighton midfielder despite being knocked back again.
Bailey said: “They [Chelsea] are firm favourites for him, but I would say let’s keep an eye on Liverpool and Arsenal I would not rule either of them out here, I really wouldn’t but Chelsea are in pole position as it were, they’ve had a first bid rejected, £70m all in, but that’s short of what Brighton want who want at least £100m all in.”
Liverpool will need a miracle to win race for Caicedo

Liverpool are fully aware of just how good adding Caicedo to their ranks would be this summer, with the midfielder arguably the best option out there in the market to replace Fabinho. However, actually affording the Brighton star is another battle entirely.
As we know, Brighton want £100m for Caicedo, a fee Liverpool simply will not pay given their current financial situation and the signings the Reds have already made this summer. And barring a miracle, the Reds winning the race for the midfield seems out of the question.
