Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha is now reportedly a possible signing for Liverpool, with the Portuguese international wanted by the Reds.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the 28-year-old remains on Liverpool’s radar as Jurgen Klopp’s side look to widen their search for a midfield signing, with both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson likely to move on from Anfield for a new adventure in Saudi Arabia.

With the Daily Mail recently reporting that Fulham want as much as £60m for Palhinha, the midfielder won’t be a cheap transfer for Liverpool, with the former Sporting Lisbon star enjoying a fantastic first year in the Premier League despite receiving the most bookings in the division.

As reported by the Athletic, West Ham have already been shot down by Fulham in their own bid to sign Palhinha this summer. Yet Liverpool could stand with a better chance given the fact that the Reds have not made a £105m sale in recent weeks.

Indeed, Palhinha could be an excellent short-term replacement for Fabinho if a deal can be reached with Fulham, and with Liverpool now viewing the midfielder as a potential signing, there might soon be talks between the two clubs over the Portuguese international.

Palhinha took the Premier League by storm last season. And with Liverpool looking to make a move for the midfielder, the Reds could stumble their way into a masterstroke of a deal if they can reach appropriate terms with Fulham.

As we know, the 28-year-old was a tackling machine last year, and in Liverpool’s midfield, Palhinha could take his game to a whole new level whilst also filling in the void left by Fabinho, with his absence set to be greatly missed in the centre of the park.
