Thiago Alcantara is reportedly set to return to Liverpool training soon, with the Spanish international on the verge of coming back from his latest injury setback.
According to journalist Neil Jones, the 32-year-old midfielder will be back in full training this pre-season, with Thiago now likely to feature in friendlies in both Germany and Singapore having been out since late April with a hip problem.
Signed from Bayern Munich in 2020 for a reported £25m, Thiago’s time at Liverpool has been marred by injury issues and fitness problems, and the midfielder starting pre-season already recovering from something is not ideal for Jurgen Klopp or his team.

Lauded by Nathaniel Phillips as an ‘unbelievable’ player, Thiago has been linked with a transfer away from Liverpool this summer as the Anfield side look to overhaul their midfield options. And the Spaniard returning to full training could help in winning a move away.
Indeed, Thiago’s role in the squad has diminished with each passing season. And with Liverpool seemingly open to the midfielder leaving this window, the 32-year-old can catch the eye of some suitors this pre-season if the creative powerhouse can earn some minutes under Klopp.
Liverpool can now look to sell Thiago after latest injury comeback

Thiago’s injury record speaks for itself, with the midfielder missing over 60 games for Liverpool since moving to Merseyside in 2020. Meaning that the time could be now for the Reds to push the former Bayern star out the door when his is fit and firing.
As we know, Thiago is due to leave Liverpool in the next 12 months with his contract expiring in 2024, and getting the midfielder off the books now and with a little bit of cash in the pocket could be massive in Klopp moving one step further in his squad rebuild.
