Moises Caicedo is reportedly upset that his proposed move to Chelsea is yet to go through, with Liverpool since reigniting their interest in the midfielder.
According to Ben Jacobs, the Brighton & Hove Albion star is not pleased that he has not been officially announced as a new player for the Blues, with Chelsea yet to reach an agreement with the Seagulls over signing the Ecuador international.
Caicedo has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, though with a bid yet to be made, there’s a chance for a rival club to hijack the move, something Liverpool could now do with Fabinho set to leave the Reds this week for Al-Ittihad in a £40m deal.
Indeed, Caicedo could be a dream signing for Liverpool as a replacement for the Brazilian. And with the midfielder now upset that his move to Chelsea has not happened, the Reds could do something quite incredible and hijack the deal for the 21-year-old talent.
Liverpool have to consider hijacking Chelsea’s bid for Caicedo
Liverpool are no strangers to working in the shadows when it comes to big transfers, and in the case of Caicedo, the Reds could make themselves one of the winners of the market if they divide to hijack Chelsea’s ongoing attempt to bring the South American to west London.
As we know, Liverpool will soon be in the money with Fabinho heading to Saudi Arabia. And with Jurgen Klopp’s side arguably more appealing an option than Chelsea, hijacking Caicedo’s move to the English capital would be quite the move from the Merseyside giants.
