Thomas Tuchel has been critical of Sadio Mane’s first season at Bayern Munich, with the former Liverpool winger enduring a turbulent year in Germany.
Speaking to the press via Sport1 journalist Kerry Hau, Tuchel was to the point when asked about Mane’s time in Bavaria, with the German coach saying: “He fell short of expectations. The competition is extremely high, so the starting position is not easy for him. The player knows that too, he knows my opinion and the opinion of the club.”
Mane signed for Bayern last year from Liverpool in a deal worth a reported £34m. Yet despite plenty of hype and excitement, the Senegalese international suffered a rough season with the Bundesliga giants in terms of form and off-the-field drama.

The attacker infamously punched Leroy Sane after Bayern’s UEFA Champions League defeat to Manchester City, with reports now strongly suggesting that Tuchel wants to sell Mane this summer should a suitable offer come in for the former Liverpool man.
Moreover, with Bayern looking to sign Harry Kane, offloading Mane will greatly help the German giants secure the Tottenham striker’s signature as well as bring an end to a short but disappointing chapter in the former Liverpool winger’s career.
Mane and Tuchel both aware that Bayern exit has to be arranged

Having just about won the Bundesliga title last season, Tuchel knows he won’t be afforded another close call in the title race, meaning selling Mane to help fund Kane would be a smart move from the Bavarian giants this summer.
As we know, the former Liverpool man has struggled in Germany and working under Tuchel. And a move in the coming weeks could be a dream solution for Mane, with the Premier League or a transfer to a Champions League side the dream outcome.
