Liverpool target loved by Jurgen Klopp now open to Anfield move

Federico Chiesa is now reportedly interested in a move to Liverpool, with Juventus open to selling the Italian international this summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the 25-year-old is eager on a move to Anfield, though Liverpool already face competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United for Chiesa’s signature, who Juventus have placed a €60m (£51m) price tag on.

With the Serie A giants keen on clearing the books this summer and boosting their financial profile, a number of Juventus’ most valuable assets are now available this window, with Chiesa expected to be one player who will aid the Old Lady in recouping a decent transfer fee.

And now, Chiesa is open on a move to Liverpool, with Gazzetta dello Sport recently reporting that Jurgen Klopp himself is a massive fan of the Italian attacker. However, it would currently take a forward to leave Anfield if a move was to happen this summer.

As we know, Liverpool have an incredible amount of attacking options on their books. And with Chiesa a player who is more than good enough to start for Klopp, the squad logistics would be greatly unbalanced should the Juventus star make the move to Merseyside this summer.

Liverpool should pass up on Chiesa despite Klopp’s admiration

There’s no question that Chiesa is an incredible forward who could be a starter at most of Europe’s biggest clubs. However, given Liverpool’s options in the wide-attack position and the project Klopp is now undergoing, adding the Juventus star would feel like too much of a good thing for the Reds.

As we know, central midfield and defence are two areas that Liverpool are looking to sign players in this summer. And whilst Chiesa would be incredible in Klopp’s system, the problems the Reds currently face in the team outweigh a move for the Italian sensation.
