Liverpool have reportedly made Romeo Lavia their new number-one transfer target, with the midfielder eyed as the ideal replacement for Fabinho.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds have identified the Belgian international as an ‘important’ target amid Fabinho’s pending departure to Saudi Arabia, though Liverpool already face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea for Lavia’s signature.
Lavia has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool for the majority of the summer. Though the rumours could soon come to a head with Fabinho set to depart Anfield, with Jordan Henderson another player who could also potentially leave Merseyside.

Praised by Romano already as a ‘special’ player, Lavia would be a dream addition for Jurgen Klopp if Liverpool can beat the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea to the midfielder’s signature. And this latest update is quite an encouraging sign that a deal could be struck.
Indeed, Fabinho’s move to Saudi Arabia should be completed in the coming days if Liverpool’s negotiating strategies are anything to off by. And as a result, there’s a realistic possibility that there could be an official bid for Lavia before the end of the week.
Liverpool have to make bid for Lavia the second Fabinho is sold

The race to sign Lavia looks to finally be drawing to a close, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea aware that the time is now to land the Southampton star. And for the Reds, they must launch their first offer the second Fabinho’s move to Saudi Arabia is through.
As we know, the club who signs Lavia might now come to which team makes the first acceptable offer. Meaning Liverpool are now against the clock if they want to add the Belgian wonderkid to their ranks as a replacement for Fabinho this summer.
