Al-Ittihad are reportedly set to make a £40m offer to sign Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, with club captain Jordan Henderson also subject to an approach from a Saudi Arabia side.

According to the Athletic, the Reds will soon receive a transfer offer for the Brazilian international as Al-Ittihad look to add Fabinho to their growing ranks which already include Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and former Celtic star Jota.

Fabinho is the second Liverpool player to be subject to interest from Saudi Arabia this week after reports emerged that Henderson is wanted by Steven Gerrard’s new side Al-Ettifaq, with the Merseyside giants now in a position where they could lose two key midfielders.

With Fabinho enduring arguably his worst season yet for Liverpool last term, a £40m offer for a 29-year-old midfielder could be extremely tempting for the Reds, especially in their pursuit to sign a third central midfielder this summer.

Indeed, with Henderson also subject to interest from Saudi Arabia, Liverpool know that selling both the club captain and Fabinho would leave a leadership vacuum in the squad. And Jurgen Klopp and his team now have a massive decision to make in the coming weeks.

Having already lost James Milner this summer, Liverpool are in no position to lose another key central midfielder in either Henderson or Fabinho. And a decision will have to be made soon on whether or not the club want to sell one or the other this summer.

As we know, Henderson and Fabinho are both leaders at Liverpool, and with Saudi Arabia now looking to lure the duo away from Anfield, the Merseyside club have to decide on what transfer option they believe will best suit them heading into the final weeks of the window.
