FC Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara, who left the Catalan giants in 2013 for Bayern Munich.
According to Sport, the reigning La Liga giants are keeping tabs on Thiago’s situation at Liverpool amid reports that the Reds could sell the 32-year-old this summer for the right price, a situation that has now put the Spanish international on Barcelona’s radar.
Having already signed one midfielder this summer in Ilkay Gundogan, Xavi Hernandez now looks ready to add a second to his ranks as Barcelona look to make a statement in the UEFA Champions League as well as reclaim their La Liga title, with Thiago now in their sights.

Lauded by Mark Lawrenson as a ‘world-class’ player when fit and firing, Thiago’s time at Liverpool has been plagued by injuries and inconsistent form. And a return to Barcelona could be appealing for the midfielder if an offer is made by the Camp Nou side.
However, as we are all aware of, Barcelona’s financial situation remains rather dire, and there’s next-to-no chance that the European giants will be able to match Liverpool’s demands for Thiago, even with the midfielder having just one year left on his current contract.
Thiago to Barcelona could be a dream transfer this summer

Thiago is seemingly at the end of his Liverpool career based on rumours and whispers this summer, and in Barcelona, the move could be a dream for all parties involved, even if the finances of such a deal could be hard to for the La Liga side to acquire.
Indeed, Thiago could relish under playing his former teammate in Xavi, and with Barcelona heading into a new era, the midfielder could be a key figure for the likes of Pedri and Gavi, who will have a perfect mentor who can take their game to the next level.
