Liverpool will reportedly only move to sign Federico Chiesa this summer if Mohamed Salah is sold, with Saudi Arabian sides interested in the Anfield superstar.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Egyptian international’s departure from Liverpool is the only factor stopping the Reds from signing Chiesa, who is of interest to the Merseyside giants as Juventus continue to look for a club that will sign the Italian international.
With Salah one of the best wingers in the world and Chiesa a wide-attacker who plays out on the right, it makes sense why Liverpool will only move for the 25-year-old if they were to lose their star forward this summer, though there is currently little chance of such a transfer happening.
Signed from AS Roma in 2017 for £34m, Salah is one of the best attackers in the world and has been instrumental to Liverpool’s success in the last six years. Yet whilst Saudi interest might be tempting for the player, the Reds should have zero intentions of selling the attacker.
However, should a transfer actually happen, Liverpool will find it hard to sign a better replacement for Salah this summer than Chiesa, who could be a dream addition for Jurgen Klopp’s side if the Egyptian international was not so integral to the Anfield giants.

Salah leaving Liverpool is a thought few supporters or experts are even entertaining this summer, yet should the impossible happen, many would agree that Chiesa would be a dream signing for the Reds, with the winger the sort of player who would flourish at Anfield under Klopp.
Lauded by 90min as a ‘world-class’ player, Chiesa has the quality to become one of the best attackers in the game in the right system, and Liverpool could give the forward the right platform for the Italian to do what he does best.
