Liverpool staff are reportedly excited by Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones’ recent international success with England’s U-21s at Euro 2023.

According to the Athletic, the pair have left Liverpool officials eager for what’s to come next season as Elliott and Jones played a part in the Three Lions incredible competition out in Georgia and Romania, with England lifting the trophy without conceding a single goal and winning every game.

Jones himself had a tournament to remember as the Liverpool midfielder scored the winning goal in the final having come off a Man of the Match performance in the semi-finals against Israel, with the 22-year-old taking his late-season form with the Reds into the U-21 Euros with England.

Although Elliott made just one start in the competition, the Liverpool prospect arguably scored the goal of the tournament for England with a sensational solo effort against Germany, a moment that no-doubt excited supporters and staff at the club.

Indeed, the pair return to Liverpool later this month with wind in their sails and an incredible level of confidence that could translate into more good form next season, with Jurgen Klopp now having quite the midfield selection headache to make for pre-season.

Liverpool’s midfield issues have been a major talking point this year, and whilst the Reds have spent big this summer to fix some major problems in the area, Jones and Elliott after winning silverware this summer with England could cause Klopp some headaches over his selection choices.

As we know, Jones was one of the stars of the U-21 Euros for the Three Lions, and with the midfielder finally starting to find his feet, the 22-year-old as well as Elliott could be pushing to start in Klopp’s new system alongside Fabinho, Alexis Mac Allister and Thiago Alcantara.
