Bayern Munich now reportedly believe that Benjamin Pavard will struggle to find a new club this summer, with Liverpool linked with the French international.

According to Kicker, the Bavarian giants hold the opinion that the defender’s demands will make it hard for the 27-year-old to attract a reasonable suitor, with Bayern yet to receive a single transfer offer for Pavard since stating his intention to leave this summer.

CalcioMercatoWeb recently reported that Liverpool were willing to meet Bayern’s demands for Pavard, believed to be around £34m. Yet this latest update seems to suggest that nothing has been submitted yet, with the German side’s new strange opinion on the defender somewhat unsettling.

As per Kicker, Pavard wants to play as a centre-back at his new club, a position Liverpool might not be willing to offer the Frenchman given his ability to play as a defensive right-back, something that would appeal to many supporters in relation to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s development.

Indeed, Pavard could flourish in central defence with Liverpool. However, with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate the clear first-choice pairing, the Bayern star’s demands won’t be sufficiently met should the 27-year-old make the move to Anfield this summer.

Pavard’s demands are reasonable given his CV and record in recent years for Bayern and France. Yet with no clubs yet to come forward for the defender, the Bavarian giants could have to push the Liverpool target to the exit door themselves if things begin to slow down.

As we know, Liverpool and other top European sides are interested in Pavard, and with the versatile defender capable of doing a job at any top club, the Frenchman might soon have to accept that his role as a utility man could be what wins him his next big move.
