Club now fear £43m player wants to leave after reported Liverpool bid

Torino are reportedly worried that Perr Schuurs will soon ask to leave after claims that Liverpool made a bid for the centre-back.

According to Tuttosport via Sport Witness, the Serie A side are now fearing that the Dutchman will leave the club in the coming weeks, with the same publication reporting earlier this week that Liverpool have had a bid rejected by Torino for Schuurs.

Valued as much as £43m according to Tuttosport, the Reds are now seemingly eager to sign a central defender having already added two midfielders to their ranks this summer, with Schuurs a player who has been linked with Liverpool for a good few months.

Whilst there is rival interest from the likes of Crystal Palace and Napoli, Liverpool could feel confident in their abilities to sign Schuurs this summer, with the Reds capable of providing regular football for the former Ajax defender next season.

Indeed, Liverpool’s participation in the UEFA Europa League will give Schuurs a platform to play often under Jurgen Klopp. And with Torino now fearing that the defender will want to leave the club, the Reds have to launch a second bid to sign the 23-year-old.

Liverpool must be quick to sign Schuurs after latest update

Schuurs’ future is quickly coming to a head after this latest report from the Turin media, and with Liverpool already in contact with Torino over the defender, it makes sense for the Reds to launch a second bid for the Dutch centre-back in the coming weeks.

As we know, a central defender is now Liverpool’s main priority in the market. And with Schuurs now seemingly ready to depart Italy, Klopp and his team have to do all they can to secure the defender’s signature, with a deal a potentially exciting one for the Anfield side.
