Liverpool will reportedly not bring Kaide Gordon on their pre-season tour of Germany and Singapore, with the winger set to return to training this week from injury.
According to the Atheltic, Jurgen Klopp’s side are expected to exclude the 18-year-old winger from this summer’s senior fixtures ahead of Gordon’s long-awaited comeback from the sidelines, with the teenager missing a staggering 17 months due to a pelvic growth issue.
The former Derby County wonderkid is regarded as one of Liverpool’s most exciting talents, yet the youngster has missed a crucial part of his development having spent the last year and a half out on the treatment table, with the Reds now being careful with Gordon’s fitness this summer.

As a result, the winger is now expended to be excluded from Liverpool’s pre-season tour, with Gordon due to train with the U-21s ahead of the Premier League 2 season, where the attacker will want to work his way back up to full fitness as soon as possible.
Lauded as ‘exceptional’ by Klopp, Liverpool are making the right call in being cautious with the 18-year-old winger. And although Gordon could get some senior minutes on the pre-season tour, training with the U-21s still remains the best option for the attacker’s road back to recovery.
Gordon could return to Liverpool’s senior set-up next season

Having missed all of last season, Gordon has plenty of catching up to do if the winger is to return to his former best. And a few months training and featuring for the U-21s could lead to the attacker again getting an opportunity in Klopp’s senior team.
As we know, the German manager is a big fan of the English youngster. And although Klopp won’t be taking Gordon with him on pre-season, time spent on the training pitch and playing at youth level could be perfect for the teenager in returning to his best and getting a crack in the Premier League or UEFA Europa League next season.
