Romeo Lavia is reportedly keener on signing for Arsenal this summer than Liverpool, despite the Reds pushing hard for the midfielder.
Football Transfers claim that the Southampton wonderkid would prefer to move to north London ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool as well as Chelsea. However, Arsenal striking a deal with the Saints for Lavia seems unlikely at this current moment.
As per the report, the Gunners are still working on getting Declan Rice over the line with the club-record £105m transfer yet to be fully finalised and announced. Moreover, Arsenal are looking to offload Thomas Partey before making their move for Lavia.

With Liverpool strongly interested in Lavia, the Reds could remain the favourites for the Belgian youngster this summer. However, there’s no denying that this latest update could be a gut punch for the Merseyside giants in their push to recruit the midfielder.
Indeed, Klopp will be looking for players who are 100% sold on the idea of playing for Liverpool. And although Lavia could be open to a move to Anfield, the teenager’s current preference to join Arsenal could be a stumbling block for the Premier League giants.
Liverpool will have to do all they can to convince Lavia to reject Arsenal

Liverpool seem fully set on signing Lavia this summer, with the ‘scary’ Southampton midfielder one of the most exciting talents in England and a player who could thrive for the Reds for many years to come. However, Klopp and his team have to convince the youngster to reject Arsenal.
As we know now, the Gunners are Lavia’s preferred choice when it comes to a summer transfer. And whilst Liverpool could still be appealing to the Belgian, Klopp will want the teenager to be fully on board with his new project for the upcoming season, something that could be done after a few rounds of talks.
