PSG are reportedly pushing hard to sign Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, with Liverpool also chasing the Spanish youngster this summer.
According to the Guardian, the French giants are eager to beat the likes of Chelsea and Jurgen Klopp’s side to the 21-year-old, who is expected to leave La Liga in the coming weeks as clubs continue to circle Veiga and his £34m release clause.
As per the report, Liverpool are interested in Veiga with their Premier League rivals Chelsea also keen on the midfielder, with the Blues the leading English side for the Celta Vigo star having sold Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante, with Mason Mount expected to follow this week.

However, PSG now look to upset the status quo by signing Veiga, with Luis Enrique seemingly keen on overhauling the Ligue 1 side’s midfield having taken charge of the club this summer. And for Liverpool, this update is a potential hammer blow.
Praised as ‘spectacular’ by Spain’s U-21 coach Santi Denia, Veiga is one of the most exciting talents in all of Europe. And whilst Liverpool are pushing ahead for Romeo Lavia, the Celta Vigo wonderkid could have been an incredible addition for the Anfield side this summer.
PSG winning Veiga race could sting for Liverpool in the years to come

Liverpool have made it clear this week that Lavia will be there third and possibly final midfield signing of the summer, and whilst the Belgian is an impressive recruit, the Reds could feel like they missed an opportunity with Veiga should PSG land the 21-year-old.
As we know, Veiga is one of the best young prospects in Europe having exploded onto the scene last year in La Liga. And for Liverpool, the midfielder flourishing at PSG under Enrique could sting, especially if the Reds begin to race a goalscoring midfielder like the Spaniard.
