Liverpool are reportedly seriously exploring a deal to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, who Manchester City only sold last year.
According to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs, the Reds are pushing hard to complete a deal for the Belgian international, who is one of the most in-demand players in England after a breakout year with the Saints despite their relegation from the Premier League.
Praised by Pep Guardiola as an ‘incredible’ talent, the 19-year-old is also wanted by Arsenal. However, Liverpool are now seemingly the favourites for Lavia after this latest update, with Jurgen Klopp keen to make the youngster his third midfield signing of the summer.
Indeed, Liverpool announced the capture of Dominik Szoboszlai this weekend with the expectation being that the Hungarian will operate in the midfield for the Reds. And in Lavia, the Anfield side could completely overhaul their options in the position alongside Alexis Mac Allister.
Lavia could be a dream signing for Liverpool and Klopp

Lavia was a breath of fresh air in the Premier League last season as the former City wonderkid controlled the midfield for Southampton and put on numerous displays that highlighted just how promising the teenager is. And for Liverpool, signing the youngster could be a dream addition for the club and for Klopp.
As we know, Liverpool want at least one more midfield addition this summer. And in Lavia, the Reds will have that void filled with one of the best young players in all of Europe and a talent who could become a world-class midfielder if given the chance to grow and develop alongside the Anfield side.
