Juventus are reportedly hopeful of beginning negotiations this week to sell Federico Chiesa, with Liverpool one of the clubs interested in signing the winger.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady are ready to ramp up the process in selling players this week, with Juventus hoping to raise as much as €100m goal from offloading the likes of Chiesa, Weston McKennie and Dusan Vlahovic.
As per the report, Juventus are confident that Chiesa and Vlahovic alone will allow them to hit their sale goal, and Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for the Italian international, who could leave Turin for €60m (£51m) this summer.
The Reds, as well as Aston Villa and Newcastle United, are big fans of Chiesa. And with Juventus now looking to sell the forward as early as this week, Liverpool are in a race against time to get an offer in place to bring the 25-year-old to Anfield.
Indeed, Chiesa could be an outstanding addition to Liverpool’s forward ranks if they can work quickly enough to bring the former ACF Fiorentina star to Merseyside. Yet Juventus’ timeframe might be too soon for the Reds to make any meaningful process.
Liverpool could miss out on Chiesa to Juventus’ impatience
It’s easy to understand where Juventus are coming from in their rush to sell as many players as possible for as good a price as they can, with the Bianconeri’s financial situation one of the worst out of any top side in Europe. Yet in the case of Chiesa and Liverpool, speedrunning this deal could be a hindrance.
As we know, Liverpool are a side that like to go about their business in a methodical way. And for Chiesa, the Reds might be put off by a deal if Juventus are insisting that negotiations have to start as early as this week for the Italian international.
