Ibrahima Konate has reacted to Liverpool’s official announcement of Dominik Szoboszlai, with the club announcing on Sunday the 22-year-old’s arrival.
Taking to Instagram, the French international posted ‘welcome’ as Liverpool confirmed the Hungarian international’s signature, with Szoboszlai taking the no. 8 shirt in what is already being billed as one of the most exciting signings of the summer.
Szoboszlai joins Liverpool in a deal believed to be worth £60m as the Reds trigger the playmaker’s RB Leipzig release clause last week in a transfer that has felt like a whirlwind for supporters. And in classic Anfield fashion, the move has already been made official.
Indeed, Szoboszlai becomes Liverpool’s second signing of the summer after Alexis Mac Allister. And with the winger already aware of the likes of Konate from his Leipzig days, the 22-year-old as the ideal environment already to become a superstar on Merseyside.
Szoboszlai could be Liverpool’s best deal in years
It would be an understatement to say Szoboszlai joining the Reds is one of the best deals of the summer. Yet the true magnitude of this transfer won’t be realised for some years, and there’s a good chance that the Hungarian could fall into the same category as Mohamed Salah or Virgil van Dijk.
