Manchester City could now reportedly join the race to sign Levi Colwill, with Liverpool also interested in the Chelsea prospect this summer.
According to the Evening Standard, the reigning Premier League and European champions are keeping tabs on the 20-year-old centre-back as City look to add to their defensive ranks, with Colwill now emerging as a target for Pep Guardiola’s side.
As per the report, Chelsea are reluctant to let Colwill leave given his immense potential. However, the defender could decide to leave if Mauricio Pochettino is unable to guarantee the youngster a place in the starting XI, something the centre-back could win at City and Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are also in the market for a central defender, practically one who can play on the left, something Colwill can do and a factor that makes the youngster stand out from other players in his position. However, City’s interest could cause some major issues for Liverpool.
Indeed, the Manchester giants have the spending power to sign essentially any player they want this summer. And although Liverpool could be the perfect club for a talent like Colwill, the appeal of playing for Guardiola at City could be too much for the Anfield side to beat.
Liverpool might have met their match for Colwill in City

Liverpool are fully aware with how big a threat City can be when they set their mind on a transfer target. And in the case of Colwill, the Reds could be powerless in their attempts to recruit the England youth international, who could be dreaming of a move to the Etihad already.
As we know, Colwill could be ideal for a coach like Guardiola given his methods on the training pitch and how City lined up defensively last season. And as for Liverpool, this could mean that they stand with zero hope in signing the Chelsea centre-back this summer.
