Liverpool have been tipped as favourites to sign Southampton wonderkid Romeo Lavia having already landed Dominik Szoboszlai this weekend.
According to the Athletic’s Jacob Tanswell via The Empire of the Kop Podcast, the Reds are the leading club in the race to land the 19-year-old midfielder, with Southampton looking to sell Lavia this summer for as much as £50m after their relegation down to the Championship.
Lavia is regarded as one of the best young players in all of Europe after a breakout year in the Premier League last season. And Liverpool could now be making moves to bring the former Manchester City talent to Anfield in the coming weeks.

Having signed Szoboszlai in a whirlwind transfer saga this week, Liverpool are seemingly not done yet when it comes to transfer business. And a move for Lavia could now be on the cards with Southampton experts now tipping the Reds to move for the youngster.
Tanswell said: “Southampton want a high figure for him. Someone has got to pay around £45m-£50m for Lavia. Who can do that is dependent on all the other targets they get. Liverpool or Chelsea. Probably Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp and with the background [work] they’ve done on him, that probably looks the likely destination.”
Liverpool signing Lavia after Szoboszlai would be a masterstroke

Szoboszlai’s arrival means Liverpool have now cleared their minimum requirement for the summer window in recruiting two exciting players who can operate in midfield. Yet for many fans, more needs to be done if they’re to compete next season, and Lavia could fill that hole perfectly.
The teenager was one of the best youngsters in the Premier League last season. And under a coach like Jurgen Klopp, Lavia can take his game to a whole new level given the immense rise in quality between playing for Liverpool compared to Southampton.
