Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a big fan of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, with the Liverpool manager willing to make the Italian a starter if signed this summer.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the German coach highly respects the 25-year-old attacker, with the Reds one of three Premier League sides interested in signing Chiesa this window, alongside Aston Villa and Newcastle United.
As per the report, Juventus will entertain a sale this summer if Chiesa’s €60m (£51m) asking price is met, with the Old Lady aware that the former ACF Fiorentina star doesn’t fit Massimiliano Allegri’s system and is unlikely to be part of the club’s future.

Yet Liverpool could now prove an escape route for Chiesa, with Klopp seemingly a huge supporter of the Azzurri superstar and now even willing to give the winger a starting spot in the XI, a prospect that many Liverpool fans will rightly question given their current options.
Indeed, Liverpool have arguably the best and most versatile set of attackers in a Premier League squad heading into the new season. And whilst Chiesa is a world-class forward when fit and firing, it’s impossible to think how the Italian would replace a Luis Diaz or Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool should sign Chiesa, but instant-starter talk is nonsense

As mentioned, Chiesa is a top attacker who could star for most clubs in Europe when fully fit and in the kind of form that made the winger such a threat for Juventus and Italy pre-ACL injury. Yet with Liverpool stacked on the wings, the forward being drummed up as an instant-starter seems bonkers.
With Salah and Diaz likely to reprise their roles as Liverpool’s starting wings with Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota there as backup when needed, Chiesa will struggle to replace Klopp’s two main stars out on the flank. However, the Italian would still be a welcome addition for the Anfield side this summer.
