PSG have held a meeting with Liverpool-linked Kylian Mbappe, to let him know that he’s being put up for sale.

Mbappe recently kicked off another transfer saga, informing his club that he doesn’t intend to extend his contract beyond 2024. This has led to suggestions that PSG will look to sell him immediately, something which 90min today confirm.

They claim that a meeting recently took place between PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Mbappe’s mother and agent, Fayza Lamari. At the sit-down, the French club reportedly ‘made it clear’ that the World Cup winner will absolutely not be allowed to leave for nothing in a year’s time.

PSG are said to be looking to avoid a drawn-out saga and have already begun drawing up the package it would cost to sell Mbappe. This is reportedly thought to be around £172m.

Lamari is claimed to have delivered the Parisian’s message to her son, and they will now wait for his response.

Real Madrid are claimed to be still interested in a potential deal to sign Mbappe, but it ‘remains to be seen’ if they’ll make a push this summer.

Mbappe put up for sale

Some will no doubt roll their eyes at Liverpool’s continued involvement in yet another Mbappe saga. But the Reds do keep being mentioned.

Late on Monday, agent Marco Kirdemir claimed that Liverpool were in fact readying an enormous bid for the France international. Kirdemir insisted that Jurgen Klopp was prepared to blow over £200m to sign Mbappe.

In a market where Liverpool are struggling to bring in their top midfield targets, that seems ludicrous.

Nevertheless, we know that the Reds do hold historic interest in the PSG man. Sources have previously mentioned that Mbappe ‘liked’ the idea of move to Anfield and his mother is famously a Liverpool fan.

It’s hard to second-guess this saga, but it would seem that Mbappe really is for sale this summer, for now at least.

With Madrid still reeling from the massive signing of Jude Bellingham, perhaps they don’t quite have the muscle to move this year.

As a result, maybe Liverpool could take advantage of a ‘now or never’ type chance to sign one of football’s true superstars. The Reds aren’t exactly in tiptop shape themselves though, and with so many other issues to solve, we’d be utterly stunned if they made an attempt.
