Aberdeen manager Barry Robson has lauded Rhys Williams as the Scottish club today confirmed the capture of the Liverpool centre-back on loan.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Dons coach was full of praise for the England youth international as Williams completed his move north of the border to Aberdeen, with the Liverpool academy graduate signing on a one-year loan deal.
Having signed Calvin Ramsay last year from Aberdeen, Liverpool have maintained a strong relationship with the Scottish side in the last 12 months, with Leighton Clarkson heading to Pittodrie on loan last season as the transfer became permanent this summer.

And now, Williams is the latest name to swap Liverpool with Aberdeen, with Robson very excited to start work with the 22-year-old defender as the Reds’ talent looks to take his game to a new level in Scotland, which could include competing in Europe.
Robson said: “Coming from Liverpool, Rhys joins us with a great pedigree. He’s athletic, tall and we think we can improve him and give him the platform to continue his development. I’ve no doubt he’ll become a real asset for the team. We’ve developed a good understanding with Liverpool, and I think they trust us with their players.”
Williams signing for Aberdeen on loan could be a sensational move

Aberdeen and Liverpool have struck up quite the relationship that has already seen one career prosper in the form of Clarkson, who this summer made his deal at Pittodrie permanent having guided the Dons to European football. And something similar could happen for Williams next season.
We know how talented the defender is and how good the youngster could become in the right environment. And with Aberdeen a club playing in Europe and competing in a good division, Williams could soon develop into a fantastic player if given the chance by Robson.
