Liverpool are reportedly ready to meet Bayern Munich’s asking price to sign Benjamin Pavard, who is expected to leave the German champions this summer.
According to CalcioMercatoWeb, the Reds are the leading club to sign the French international, with Liverpool the only side who have a bid ready in waiting to send over to Bayern for Pavard, who is also wanted by FC Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
One of the most versatile defenders in Europe, Pavard’s ability to play naturally at right-back and centre-back has made the Bayern star quite the target for many top sides. Yet it is Liverpool who now stand with the best chance of landing the 27-year-old this summer.

Praised as ‘world-class’ by former Bayern manager Niko Kovac, Jurgen Klopp’s change to Liverpool’s system could greatly benefit from a player like Pavard, who can provide sensational cover in both the centre of defence as well as out on the right for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Indeed, the England international’s evolution into the midfield could be a key reason why Liverpool are interested in Pavard. And this latest update seems to indicate that the Reds are willing to spend big to bring the French international to Anfield in the coming weeks.
Liverpool should be looking to sign Pavard as soon as possible

With Bayern looking to sell Pavard and Liverpool interested in the player, it makes sense for the Reds to get the deal done as quickly as possible, especially with an offer now waiting in the wings and the likes of Inter and Madrid also keeping tabs on the defender.
As we know, Liverpool are interested in signing a world-class option for the defence this summer, and with Pavard now on the market, waiting around will do little the help the Anfield side’s case on their quest to sign the Frenchman, who could be an outstanding addition.
