Ryan Gravenberch has suggested that he won’t be leaving Bayern Munich this summer despite strong rumours in recent weeks linking the midfielder with Liverpool.

Speaking to Algemeen Dagblad, the 21-year-old revealed that he is assuming he will be a Bayern player next season despite reports suggesting that the youngster wants to leave the German champions, where last term Gravenberch was mostly used as a bench player.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for Gravenberch as a result, with Bayern reportedly open to a sale if an offer of £43m is made for the Dutch youngster. However, the player himself now seems keen to remain in Bavaria to fight for his position.

Indeed, Gravenberch stating that he now wants to stay with Bayern is quite the twist given what has been reported this summer. And for Liverpool, the midfielder’s latest comments could be a hammer blow in any future moves for the former Ajax superstar.

Gravenberch said when asked about his future: “I am assuming that I will still be at Bayern next season. That is how I am really in it. I am at a top three club in the world. I think that’s beautiful and special. I am not giving up just like that. My goal is still to succeed at Bayern.”

Liverpool’s interest in Gravenberch is public knowledge at this stage, and whilst the midfielder is now delivering fighting talk over not giving up at Bayern, the Reds can easily test the midfielder and the Bundesliga club’s resolve with an offer later next month.

As we know, Liverpool are eager to add to their midfield this summer, with Gravenberch an ideal addition for the Merseyside giants. And whilst the player might talk a big game, a bid could change everything for the Dutchman, who could be convinced to move to Anfield.
