Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly made contact with Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, with the former Liverpool loanee potentially an option to replace Alexis Mac Allister.
According to Globo Esportes, the Brazilian could soon terminate his contract with the Serie A giants via mutual consent, and as a result, Brighton have now made an initial approach for Arthur, who could fill the void left by Mac Allister.
The Argentine international joined Liverpool at the start of this month as part of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield rebuild, one that has already seen Arthur leave Anfield as arguably one of the club’s worst-ever signings having made just one substitute appearance for the Reds.

Despite Arthur’s horror year in England, interest is high in the 26-year-old this summer, with Brighton now potentially in the race for the Juventus midfielder, who could be lined up as a replacement for Mac Allister on top of the signings of James Milner and Mahmoud Dahoud.
Indeed, Arthur could be open on a permanent move to the Premier League this summer should his contract with Juventus be ripped up. And Brighton could be an ideal destination for the midfielder even with the South American having a nightmare spell with Liverpool.
Arthur could realistically replace Mac Allister at Brighton

Arthur’s time at Liverpool will leave a black mark on the Brazilian’s CV, but there’s no denying that the midfielder has what it takes to turn his career around, and a move to Brighton to potentially replace Mac Allister could be the dream move for the 26-year-old.
As we know, Brighton have proven to be a club who can get the best out of players regardless of their age or ability, and for Arthur, this could result in the former FC Barcelona man returning to his prime form and proving to Liverpool that he can compete at the top.
