Liverpool reportedly have a meeting planned with Victor Osimhen’s entourage, with the striker keen to move to the Premier League this summer from Napoli.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolleri, the Reds are one of three Premier League clubs who will meet with the Nigerian international and his team to discuss a potential move, with Osimhen topping the Serie A scoring charts last season as the attacker guided Napoli to the Scudetto.
Although Osimhen is eager to take his talents to England, Napoli’s asking price could be a significant roadblock for Liverpool, with recent reports suggesting that the Italian champions want as much as €150m (£130m) for the 24-year-old superstar.
Such a fee would shatter Liverpool’s current spending record as well as the Premier League record set by Chelsea in January for Enzo Fernandez. And with the Reds already stocked in the attacking position, there’s a good chance that their interest in Osimhen could soon vanish before it had even begun.
Liverpool’s interest in Osimhen makes little sense despite his talent

Osimhen is clearly one of the best strikers in the world, with the Napoli star playing a key role in leading the Italian giants to their first league title this century. However, for Liverpool, signing the former LOSC Lille man makes little sense given what the Reds need this summer in the market.
As we know, midfielders and added defensive cover are what supporters and pundits are crying out for Liverpool to recruit this window. And although Osimhen would be an incredible signing, the finances and the forward’s actual position means that a deal wouldn’t make sense despite his obvious abilities.
