Alexis Mac Allister has named Jurgen Klopp as the main man behind Liverpool’s move for the midfielder, who this month completed a £35m switch to Anfield.
Speaking to the press via the Mirror, the Argentine international revealed that the Reds boss was the key figure in his decision to swap Brighton & Hove Albion for Liverpool, with Mac Allister making the move official at the start of this month.
Mac Allister became Liverpool’s first signing of the summer as the Anfield side look to overhaul their midfield options having finished outside the top-four last season. And the 24-year-old’s arrival could be a game-changer ahead of the new campaign.

Indeed, Mac Allister was one of the best midfielders in the Premier League last season. Yet had it not been for Klopp, the South American could have ended elsewhere. The former Brighton man said: “After the season ended, I had the chance to talk to Klopp and he told me about the club, the city and what he wanted.
“The main thing was that from the first moment, they communicated with my family and with me, they wanted me to be there. When I was able to speak with the coach, it was made even clearer. It’s the small details that made me choose Liverpool. I feel that it is the right step in my career.”
Klopp’s influence on Mac Allister could be huge for Liverpool next season

Mac Allister is well on his way to becoming a fan favourite at Liverpool ahead of the new season, and after his latest comments on Klopp, the midfielder could become a huge presence for the Reds in their quest to challenge for the Premier League title.
As we now know, Klopp’s influence was huge in getting Mac Allister to sign for Liverpool. And the midfielder could now repay the favour in a big way by elevating his game to new levels and by pushing his new teammates to something greater than they already are.
