Liverpool have asked to be kept in the loop over the future of Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Edmond Tapsoba.
Tapsoba may be a familiar name to Reds fans, he’s been linked with leaving Leverkusen for the past two years. But now, according to 90min, it looks like the 24-year-old could finally be on the move.
They claim that Tottenham Hotspur are progressing in talks to sign Tapsoba, and have been told that he’s willing to join them.

Despite that though, it’s still reportedly far from being a done deal. Spurs are said to be ‘wary’ that other clubs could still hijack their move.
One of those clubs is claimed to be Liverpool. Along with Manchester United and Newcastle United, the Reds have reportedly been informed of Tapsoba’s situation.
Liverpool keeping an eye on Tapsoba
As Liverpool search for a new centre-back this summer, Tapsoba is an interesting option. He isn’t the left-footer the Reds have been told they should be looking for, but he’s still a fine defender.
At 24, and with three years at Leverkusen under his belt, he looks ready to make the move to the Premier League. Described as ‘fantastic’ by one his club’s directors – Simon Rolfes – he’s a real asset.
Although he’s seemingly open to the change of clubs, that doesn’t mean Tapsoba will come cheap, though. The Burkina Faso international has been highly rated since joining Leverkusen and they have a good record of selling players.

As we’ve come to learn with Liverpool, this will probably be the most pressing factor in whether he joins.
Go over the £45-50m mark, and Spurs will no longer have to worry about their Merseyside rivals.
For a player like Tapsoba, that would feel like the top end of what he’s likely to cost. So in that regard, we can see Liverpool being in with a shout here.
As the Reds assess their options in the market across various positions, he’s another we’ll be keeping an eye on.
