Liverpool have been reportedly told that they can sign Fenerbahce wonderkid Arda Guler if they trigger his €17.5m (£15m) release clause, though Real Madrid are now interested.

According to AS, the teenage talent will only be allowed to leave Turkey this summer if a club activates his £15m exit clause, with Liverpool one of many clubs interested in signing Guler, who this season has exploded onto the European scene.

Lauded by Target Scouting as a ‘world-class’ prospect, Guler has won plenty of plaudits this season for his impressive performances for Fenerbahce, and Liverpool are now keeping tabs on the 18-year-old winger, who recently scored for Turkey against Wales in Euro 2024 qualifying.

With six goals and seven assists in all competitions for Fener last season, Guler is firmly on his way to becoming one of the best players in Europe given his young age. And Liverpool could now find themselves in a position to sign the teenager with the release clause set at £15m.

However, interest from Madrid in Guler could be a massive issue for Liverpool, who could now easily struggle to attract the Turkish winger to Anfield if Los Blancos push hard enough to bring the 18-year-old wonderkid to Spain in the coming weeks.

Guler’s talent seemingly knows no bounds with the winger on course to become one of the most exciting players in all of Europe at his current pace. Yet for Liverpool, they could miss out on the Fenerbahce star if Madrid rush out the gates early in their attempt to recruit the youngster.

Indeed, Madrid are no strangers to spending big on young players the club deem worthy enough to play for the first-team. And given how impressive Guler has been in the last 12 months, Liverpool could be out-muscled in a big way by the La Liga side if they proceed with a move.
