Mystery club have just made a bid for 19-year-old Liverpool target, he could go for less than £3m

A bid is already on the table for 19-year-old Liverpool target Adama Bojang.

The teenaged forward of Gambian side Steve Biko FC was one of the breakout stars of the recent U20 World Cup. Bojang’s performances for Gambia in Argentina have reportedly drawn attention from half the clubs in Europe, Liverpool included.

And whilst reiterating the Reds’ interest yesterday, The Guardian claimed that two new clubs have now joined the race to sign him. Newcastle United and Manchester United have both reportedly added their names to the clutch of clubs wanting Bojang.

It’s claimed that a number of those teams come from Germany. And according to The Guardian, this is where the youngster would prefer to move to.

To that end, an offer reportedly arrived from an unnamed German side earlier this week. With Steve Biko FC said to be asking for just £2.6m to sell Bojang, they can probably expect a few more in the very near future.

Bundesliga the best place for Bojang

With so many clubs interested in signing Bojang, it’s tricky to see Liverpool winning this one.

Although the identity of the club bidding for the forward remains a mystery, there are two German sides mentioned as having concrete interest: RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt.

If the offer on the table is from one of those two sides, Bojang and his club would probably be wise to accept.

Both have a good track record for promoting young players. The two sides are also set to lose some key players this summer and could have an instant route to the starting XI for the Gambian.

At Liverpool, the path into Jurgen Klopp’s first team is nowhere near as straightforward. There would be a handful of top forward’s in Bojang’s way at Anfield. Although he may back himself to break into that, a lack of playing time will harm his development.

That isn’t to say that we wouldn’t be in favour of the signing. Bojang is nicknamed the ‘Gambian Hurricane’ for a reason, he looks a real talent. But for now, maybe his progress should be overseen elsewhere.

If it is, you can bet that Liverpool will keep a close watch on him. Do well over in the Bundesliga, or wherever he goes, and the Reds may come knocking again.
