ACF Fiorentina have reportedly told Liverpool to make an offer for Sofyan Amrabat, with the Serie A side eager to sell the midfielder this summer.

According to Fiorentina.it, the Tuscan-based club are keen to cash in on the Morocco international, with Fiorentina looking for as much as €35m (£30m) for Amrabat as Liverpool remains interested in the 26-year-old.

Amrabat was one of the stars of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and was highly tipped to leave Fiorentina in the January transfer window. However, the midfielder was unable to secure a move despite interest from Liverpool and a late bid from FC Barcelona.

This summer, though, is shaping up to be a different story for Amrabat, with Fiorentina now asking the likes of Liverpool to make an offer for the African superstar in order to raise funds for transfers of their own, though it is not yet known if the Reds will accept this demand.

Indeed, Liverpool are looking to add another midfielder to their ranks this summer having already signed Alexis Mac Allister. But given Amrabat’s age and his profile, it is likely that the Anfield side will move on from the Morocco international for other, younger targets.

Amrabat’s moment in the limelight came and went last winter, and whilst the midfielder is more than ready for a move to a big club this summer, Liverpool can be forgiven for now wanting to pass up on the 26-year-old, especially after Fiorentina’s latest demands.

As we know, Liverpool are now on the hunt for a midfielder who is on the younger side and could be part of the club’s future. And although Amrabat would be a great short-term fix, Jurgen Klopp and his team would be wise to move on to other targets this summer.
