Liverpool are reportedly ready to pay ACF Fiorentina’s asking price to sign Sofyan Amrabat, with the midfielder also wanted by Newcastle United.

According to journalist Giacomo Iacobellis, the Reds are willing to match the Moroccan’s €30m (£25m) valuation as Liverpool continue to keep tabs on Amrabat, who was heavily linked with a move to Anfield after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Whilst Liverpool are willing to match Fiorentina’s asking price, there are some sticking points to a deal being completed, mainly Amrabat’s preference to move to Spain, where Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona are also interested in the midfielder.

Indeed, Amrabat could be an ideal midfield signing for Jurgen Klopp given the German’s need for multiple additions in the position. However, with the Fiorentina star holding out for a move to La Liga, Liverpool could be drawn into a waiting game that they can’t afford to play for the African superstar.

Amrabat’s reputation skyrocketed after the World Cup last December, and whilst the midfielder could be a great addition for most top clubs, Liverpool have to now make a decision on whether or not to sign the 26-year-old after this latest transfer update.

As we now know, Liverpool are willing to meet Fiorentina’s demands for the midfielder. Yet with Amrabat himself eager to move to Spain, the Reds have to decide on if they want to wait it out with the Morocco international or launch a bid to convince the Serie A dynamo to head to England.
