Liverpool could reportedly enter the race to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, with the Reds expected to join the fray for the teenager.
According to the Daily Express, the Merseyside giants are interested in the Belgian youngster and could soon make an attempt of their own to sign the 19-year-old, though Liverpool already face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea for Lavia’s signature.
As per the report, Mikel Arteta’s side are the current favourites for Lavia with Arsenal already closing in on agreeing to personal terms. However, this won’t stop Liverpool from making an offer of their own, with Jurgen Klopp keen to sign another midfielder.

Lavia enjoyed a breakout year with Southampton as the midfielder earned praise for his performances despite the Saints finishing the Premier League season in bottom-place, with the south coast side demanding as much as £45m for their star talent.
Praised by Total Football Analysis for his ‘ridiculous’ qualities at such a young age, Lavia is a player who is heading straight to the top. And for Liverpool, they have to ensure that they can go head-to-head with Arsenal and Chelsea for the midfielder this summer.
Liverpool must do all they can to win race for Lavia

Lavia’s stock has risen considerably in the last 12 months, with the midfielder now one of the most exciting talents in all of Europe and a player who has proven he can compete in the Premier League. And for Liverpool, they simply have to ensure they sign the teenager this summer.
Such a task will be hard given that Arsenal are already steaming ahead in their own attempt to sign Lavia, yet Liverpool’s shrewd business techniques and tactics could be enough to best the north London side for the Belgian youngster this summer.
