Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in Torino defender Perr Schuurs as a replacement for Marc Guehi, with Liverpool recently linked to both players.

According to the Daily Mail, the Eagles are eyeing the Dutch centre-back as insurance for if their star defender leaves this summer, with Liverpool one of many clubs interested in signing Guehi after another impressive season for the south London side.

Named captain on numerous occasions, Guehi’s form for Palace has seen the former Chelsea talent become an established England international, and there’s now a growing expectation that the defender could be on the move this window, with Liverpool in the race.

As a result, Palace are now looking at players to replace Guehi, and Schuurs has now emerged as an option, with the 23-year-old a name who has also been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, which could put the Reds in a difficult position.

With an asking price of £43m according to Tuttosport, Schuurs and Guehi are both available at a similar price for Liverpool. And the decision could soon be made on which centre-back to move for with Palace now anticipating their star defender to move this summer.

A transfer merry-go-round could be about the kick-off with Palace now interested in Schuurs, and as a result, Liverpool should now be focusing on Guehi, who could be a more ideal option for Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer based on his homegrown status and Premier League CV.

With the Palace star also available at a similar asking price to Schuurs, signing Guehi makes more sense than a move for the Dutchman, who could also be more suited to Selhurst Park rather than the bright lights of Anfield having spent just a season at Torino.
