Liverpool are reportedly set to loan out Calvin Ramsay to Preston North End, with the defender to join the Championship side for next season.
According to Paul Joyce, the Scottish youth international will complete a move to Deepdale ahead of a season-long loan move to Preston, with Liverpool eager to see Ramsay play regular football after a difficult first year on Merseyside.
Liverpool signed Ramsay from Aberdeen last summer in a deal reportedly worth £6m according to Sky Sports News. Yet despite arriving with plenty of hype, the defender struggled with injuries that saw the 19-year-old fail to make a single senior appearance.
However, the right-back has now returned to full fitness, and whilst a pre-season training camp with Liverpool could have done Ramsay a lot of good, the club have seemingly made the decision to loan out the Scottish prospect as early as possible this summer.
Ramsay could thrive out on loan with Preston next season

Lauded by Jurgen Klopp as an ‘exceptional’ talent, Ramsay will be kicking himself for how poorly his first year in England went. However, the defender has the chance to make things right in the Championship next season with Preston, who could be ideal for the Scottish teenager.
The Deepdale side have a good track record of developing Premier League talents sent to Lancashire on loan in recent years, and Ramsay could be the next name to hit the next level in their career with Preston, with Liverpool seemingly keen on the move becoming a success.
