Liverpool are in the mix when it comes to the potential signing of Italian forward, Federico Chiesa, according to reports.

Chiesa has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal. The Gunners are thought to admire the Juventus ace, who could be solved to help ease some financial problems in Turin.

However, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Liverpool are considered the most likely English club for Chiesa right now.

Liverpool looking at signing Federico Chiesa

Chiesa, who has been lauded as a ‘superstar’ in his homeland, has been one of the best players in Serie A for some time now. He also shone for Italy in the Euros as they beat out England to win at Wembley.

Tuttosport reports that there is interest from England but that as of now, it is Liverpool who are ‘above all’ when it comes to signing him.

Of course, Liverpool’s priorities this summer are midfield. However, Jurgen Klopp has always been open to other positions being strengthened.

The Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and are looking at a number of other options.

Chiesa’s name is likely to be played down by more local media, with the expectancy that forwards won’t be signed.

RTK’s View: What a signing

Let’s be honest here, if there is a chance we can sign Federico Chiesa and the money is right, then let’s be in the conversation.

This is a player of the highest quality who anyone in Europe would be happy to take. He is a star for Italy and has previously impressed Cristian Ronaldo. Indeed, the former United man wanted him at Old Trafford when he went back.

If a deal can be done and at a dropdown bargain price, then the Reds need to be in there. This would be a stunning signing, and one that takes the Reds to the very next level.
