Liverpool have been reportedly informed that they can sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone for €40m (£35m), with the Frenchman a target for the Reds.
Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter to confirm the news that the 22-year-old could be available for quite a reasonable price, with the Italian journalist stating that Liverpool will focus on wrapping up the signing of Alexis Mac Allister before moving on to Kone.
Praised by Mark Schwarzer as a ‘phenomenal’ player, Kone has been one of Gladbach’s best players over the last few seasons and has firmly established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting talents, with the midfielder now ready to make the move away from Germany.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Kone for quite some time. And after this latest update, there is reason to believe that the France youth international could be the next midfielder Jurgen Klopp’s side make a move for given the reasonable asking price set by Gladbach.
Liverpool must move fast to sign Kone after securing Mac Allister

As with many top players around Europe, Liverpool aren’t the only club interested in Kone based on recent reports. Yet with the Reds seemingly taking the lead in the race for the midfielder, the Anfield side have to work fast if they’re to secure the 22-year-old’s signature after landing Mac Allister.
Indeed, the Gladbach dynamo has the quality and potential to become a star for Liverpool in the seasons to come, and with the price tag now know, the Merseyside giants should be doing all they can to sign Kone ahead of their Premier League and European rivals.
