Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool plan to complete the signing of Alexis Mac Allister next week as their first new addition of the transfer window.
Taking to Twitter, the Italian journalist reports that the Anfield side hope to have the Argentine international through the front door in the coming days, with Mac Allister expected to be announced as a new Liverpool player in a blockbuster deal from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, and Jurgen Klopp’s side now look to be in a position to sign Mac Allister in what will be one of many signings made by the Merseyside giants this summer, particularly in midfield.
The central area has proven to be a big issue for Liverpool in recent months. And good signings in the position, such as Mac Allister, could be the catalyst to fire the Reds back into the Premier League title charge having finished the season in a dismal fifth place.
Mac Allister should be the beginning of something exciting at Liverpool

Mac Allister’s arrival will signal the beginning of the Reds’ summer business. And for Liverpool, the Argentine’s signature could bring the dawn of a new era and one that could catapult Klopp’s side back to the top of the English and the European game.
As we know, Liverpool need multiple midfield signings if they’re to compete again amongst the best. And Mac Allister landing on Merseyside will be the clearest indicator yet that changes are coming of the Premier League giants, something that supporters have been demanding for some time.
