Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly had a £30m transfer bid rejected by Chelsea for Levi Colwill, a player Liverpool are also keen on signing.
According to Sky Sports News, the Seagulls have been pegged back big time by the west London side in their attempt to keep Colwill on a permanent basis, with Chelsea rejecting the offer and stating that the 20-year-old is not for sale.
Colwill played a central role in Brighton’s incredible sixth-place finish as Roberto De Zerbi led the south coast side to Europe for the first time in their history. And after such an impressive season, interest is beginning to spike for the England youth international, including from Liverpool.

However, with Chelsea rejecting a hefty offer from Brighton for Colwill, it appears that no move will happen this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to integrate the youngster into his squad for next season. And as a result, Liverpool could stand no chance of landing the defender.
Moreover, with the Blues likely to see Liverpool as more of a direct rival than Brighton, the odds on Chelsea selling Cowill to the Reds even for an improved offer will be close to zero. Yet this stance could change as the summer window progresses.
Colwill could force Chelsea move amid growing Liverpool interest

Chelsea might have grand plans for Colwill in the years to come. But the likeliest reality is that the defender will fall into the substitute trap that has stopped some great players from showcasing their true talents at Stamford Bridge. And this could lead to a move to Liverpool.
As we know, the Reds are big fans of the 20-year-old centre-back, and with Colwill more than ready for regular football at a top club, Liverpool could test the waters with Chelsea should they end up using the youngster as nothing more but a bench warmer.
