Liverpool reportedly now have a strong desire to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone, who has exploded onto the Reds’ radar in recent days.

According to Sport Bild, the Merseyside giants have a real interest in the 22-year-old midfielder, with Liverpool already in contact with the Bundesliga side over signing Kone. As per the report, Jurgen Klopp wants him at Anfield this summer.

Lauded as a ‘diamond’ talent, Kone is one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga and has been a star for Gladbach over the last two seasons. And this summer is set to be the period when the youngster finally makes the move to the Premier League, with Liverpool interested.

As we know, the Reds are keen to sign at least three central midfielders this summer as Klopp looks to rebuild his squad back into something that could challenge for the title. And adding a young talent like Kone to his ranks could be an inspired move.

Indeed, the Frenchman has the talent and the potential to become a superstar in the Premier League this season, and with Liverpool now stating that they have a strong desire to bring the midfielder to Anfield, a deal could soon accelerate.

Liverpool are no strangers to spending big on players with the intention of having them in the squad for years to come, and Kone could prove to be the next example of such a move. Yet the Reds have to act quickly if they’re to add the youngster to their ranks.

Kone is being eyed by numerous clubs around Europe, and whilst Liverpool knows that they can win the race for the midfielder, acting too slowly could result in the Anfield side yet again missing out on an outstanding talent, a mistake no fan wants to see repeated.
