Aston Villa have reportedly joined the race to sign Fabio Carvalho, with the Liverpool winger expected to leave Anfield in some capacity this summer.
According to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs, Unai Emery’s side are interested in the Portuguese youth international, who just one year after joining Liverpool could already be heading for the exit door having failed to make much of an impact at Anfield.
With RB Leipzig already having a bid rejected for Carvalho, interest is beginning to spike for the 20-year-old winger, and Villa could now make an offer of their own in the coming days with Liverpool’s resolve seemingly weakening on the former Fulham talent.

Recently lauded as an ‘oustanding’ talent by Jurgen Klopp, Carvalho could be tempted with a move to Villa given how good a job Emery has done in his short time at the club as well as their participation in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season.
Indeed, Villa’s impressive record with youth players in recent years could also be an appealing factor for Carvalho. And with the Birmingham-based giants now interested in the Liverpool man, a move could soon be on the cards for the youngster.
Villa might be a great move for Carvalho, but only on loan

Carvalho has endured a year to forget at Liverpool, yet with Villa interested in the youngster, a second chance could soon be gifted for the winger. However, the Reds must be only willing to offload the forward out on loan, especially to a Premier League rival.
As we know, Carvalho is arguably Liverpool’s most exciting prospect. Whilst there could be a temptation to sell the 20-year-old if a good offer comes in, we all know that the Portuguese youngster has the potential to become a starter under Klopp, and this goal could be met with a year out with Villa.
