Adrian will reportedly sign a new contract with Liverpool having held talks with the Anfield side over the Spanish goalkeeper’s future.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the former West Ham shot-stopper will pen fresh terms with the Merseyside giants that will keep Adrian at Liverpool beyond this season, with the 36-year-old expected to remain Jurgen Klopp’s third-choice goalkeeper.

With Liverpool competing in the UEFA Europa League next season and Caoimhin Kelleher expected to leave the club for regular football elsewhere, there’s a growing chance that Adrian could become a regular for the Reds next year in Europe and the domestic cup competitions.

Lauded as ‘incredible’ by Klopp himself, Adrian has been in recent talks with Liverpool over the veteran keeper’s future and whether or not he will leave the club this summer. However, the decision has clearly been made to stay on at Anfield for at least another year.

Having a solid third-choice keeper is something every top club in Europe should have on their books just to be safe, and for Liverpool, keeping Adrian around as that option is a smart move from the Reds, especially with Europa League football on the cards next season.

Kellher’s future could throw Adrian into the starting XI for European and cup games, and although the Spaniard is now the oldest player at the club, the Liverpool keeper could prove his worth with some top performances like we have seen over the years.
