Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has issued a teasing transfer update, with the Lazio midfielder strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.
Speaking to Pazzi Di Fanta, the 28-year-old revealed that a move might not be on the cards this summer despite strong reports that the midfielder will leave Rome this summer, with Milinkovic-Savic saying: “The future? Let’s see. I have another year and Lazio and we will talk at the end.”
Rudy Galetti recently claimed that the Lazio superstar is a target for Liverpool this summer as the Anfield side look to overhaul their midfield options, with the Serbian international arguably one of the most complete players in the position in world football.

With Milinkovic-Savic’s contract ending in 2024, a move could be on the cards this summer if Lazio were to cash in on their star asset. However, the midfielder’s latest comments and the fact the Serie A side confirmed UEFA Champions League qualification this weekend could now paint a different picture.
Indeed, with Liverpool failing to finish in the Premier League’s top-four, there could be a real chance that Jurgen Klopp’s side miss out on Milinkovic-Savic, and for the Anfield side, that could be a major blow for their summer plans.
Liverpool have to make an attempt to sign Milinkovic-Savic

Milinkovic-Savic is simply one of the best midfielders in world football and a player who could take Liverpool’s squad quality to new heights. Yet following on from this cryptic interview, the chances of the Serbian moving to Anfield now feel slim.
Despite this, Liverpool should be doing all the can to bring Milinkovic-Savic to England, with Lazio expected to host a fire sale to manage their financial problems despite qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
