Liverpool have reportedly rejected a surprise transfer offer submitted this week for Fabio Carvalho, with Jurgen Klopp eager to keep hold of the youngster.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds have turned down a bid from an unnamed club for the 20-year-old winger, with multiple Premier League clubs also interested in signing Carvalho on loan as an exit from Anfield looms closer this summer.
As per the report, Klopp wants to retain Carvalho on Liverpool’s books having signing the youngster from Fulham last summer in a deal believed to be worth £7m. However, a loan move could happen to get the 20-year-old some regular minutes for next season.

Carvalho has hardly featured for Liverpool this campaign despite arriving on Merseyside with a huge reputation during his time in west London under Marco Silva. And as a result, the Portuguese youth international could now find himself out of Anfield having failed to make any sort of mark.
However, it now looks like a loan deal will be what Liverpool pursue this summer, with Klopp clearly keen to keep hold of Carvalho despite his lack of minutes this season, with the German boss recently labelling the 20-year-old as an ‘oustanding’ talent.
Liverpool right to reject surprise transfer offer for Carvalho

Carvalho’s first year with Liverpool has hardly gone to plan, with the winger struggling to feature for Klopp’s side as well as looking like a shadow of the player who dominated the Championship last year. However, rejecting this latest offer is a good move from the Reds.
As we know, Carvalho is still only 20-years-old and still has a lot of time to hit the heights Liverpool fans are expecting from the attacker. And with Klopp open to loaning out the former Fulham man for next season, such a move could be what’s needed to unlock the Portuguese youngster’s frightening potential.
