Alexis Mac Allister was spotted in tears after Brighton & Hove Albion’s final Premier League game of the season, with the midfielder heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.

According to the Athletic’s Andy Naylor, the Argentine international was seen in an emotional state after the Seagull’s 2-1 loss to Aston Villa, with Mac Allister expected to leave Brighton this summer after an incredible year for club and country.

With a reported asking price of £70m, Liverpool are the current front-runners to sign the 24-year-old this summer, and Mac Allister’s tearful reaction to playing Brighton’s last game of the season could be a strong indicator that the midfielder will be on the move in the coming weeks.

Moreover, with German Garcia Grova claiming that Mac Allister and his agents have recently met to discuss a potential move to Anfield, all the signs are pointing towards the South American superstar joining Liverpool, where a deal could now be announced soon.

Mac Allister’s emotional goodbye to Brighton supporters is as clear a sign as any that the midfielder will be off this summer, and for Liverpool, they must ensure that they wrap up the Argentine’s signature as soon as possible in the weeks to come.

With Jurgen Klopp keen to sign as many players as possible before the start of pre-season, the 24-year-old will be a great way to kick off the summer of spending, and Mac Allister’s tears this Sunday at Villa Park are as strong a sign as any that the midfielder knows a departure from Brighton is imminent.
