Liverpool are heading back to the Far East with another trip to Singapore for their pre-season tour in 2023. Here is everything you need to know about Jurgen Klopp’s summer plans for the Anfield outfit.

The Reds visited Singapore and Thailand last summer as Klopp sought to get the Merseyside natives ready for the Premier League season. But he will now be hoping Liverpool are better prepared going into the 2023/24 season after only qualifying for the Europa League and not the Champions League.

Pre-season will also give those in Liverpool’s academy a chance to prove themselves. Conor Bradley, for one, is desperate to impress Klopp and use Liverpool’s tour of Singapore to show what he learnt away on loan. So, Rousing The Kop has looked at all you need to know about Liverpool’s pre-season…

When does Liverpool’s pre-season start?

Klopp has ordered Liverpool’s first-team squad and certain academy players to return for pre-season training on July 8, 2023. But any of the Reds’ players called up for international duty will not convene back to the AXA Training Centre until July 11, 2023. Yet their squad will only spend a few days there.

Liverpool will spend three or four days at their training ground undergoing fitness tests before flying to Germany. Klopp has also organised a mini-camp in his home country before the Reds board their plane to the Far East. The Reds will also play two fixtures whilst in Germany before jetting off to Singapore.

As of June 21, Liverpool have announced four pre-season friendlies across their mini-training camp in Germany and their tour of Singapore in 2023. But the Reds could yet hold more friendlies still. So, keep checking back to this page for regular updates on the Merseyside natives’ off-season fixture list in full.

The Anfield side sought to return to the Far East following their successful visit in 2022. But Liverpool meet Leicester City and Bayern Munich as part of the Singapore Festival of Football this time around. They will also look to defend the Standard Chartered Singapore Trophy when they take on the Foxes.

Liverpool won the Standard Chartered Singapore Trophy in 2022 after beating Crystal Palace. Whilst the winner of the Reds’ match against Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich will get the Singapore Trophy, presented by Audi and Standard Chartered Bank. The Reds will also hold one open training session.

Liverpool have also announced one separate friendly for their Under-21s away from their pre-season tour. Manager Barry Lewtas’ junior Reds side will hold their own fixtures ahead of the new campaign.
